The next Steering Committee meeting of the Upper Maumee River Watershed Partnership will be held on Thursday, August 12th, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Woodburn Missionary Church, located at 5107 Bull Rapids Road, Woodburn, Indiana. Please note that the group has established a set Steering Committee meeting schedule on the second Thursday of every month with plans to alternate between the Woodburn Missionary Church, Woodburn, Indiana and the Antwerp United Methodist Church, Antwerp, Ohio. As always, we encourage public input/participation at all general steering committee meetings.
Bi-State River Cleanup Event The Upper Maumee Watershed Partnership is hosting a bi-state river cleanup event on the Maumee River on Saturday, July 24. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., residents of both Indiana and Ohio can take part in a concerted effort to beautify our streams by taking part in a canoe expedition to collect litter from the Riverside Park area in Antwerp, Ohio and from Kreager Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Canoeing and litter collection will continue until 12:00 p.m. where a light picnic lunch will be provided to participants. Canoes and transportation will be provided back to canoe put-in locations. All interested individuals MUST RSVP to reserve a canoe. Availability is limited, so be sure to register today! Reservations and questions should be directed to Abigail Frost for the Fort Wayne location (260) 417-2500 and to Jason Roehrig for the Antwerp location (419) 782-8751. |
